About LapseWatch
You are being asked to hand your subscription list to a service you have never heard
of, and to pay for it. This page says who builds it, how it makes money, and what it
will not do.
Who builds it
One person. The extension, the website, the server and the LINE bot
are written by the same person, and that person answers the support email. That cuts
both ways, so here are both sides:
-
Good: your email does not queue in a helpdesk system. The person
who replies is the person who can change the code.
-
Bad: I get ill, I have other commitments, and replies will not be
within 24 hours. That is why the support page
states no response time. A promise you are not sure of is just a
lie people will remember.
Development started in August 2026. It is the first product under the
Smallworks name. What was built and when is in the
changelog (zh-Hant).
How it makes money
From the one-time purchase, and nothing else. No ads, no affiliate
commissions, and we neither sell nor trade any data. This is worth spelling out,
because the two most common business models for “help you manage subscriptions” are
exactly the other two:
-
Not ad-funded. A service that knows what you subscribe to, if it
lives on advertising, has an interest in you subscribing to more — not in helping
you cancel.
-
No referral fees. Every cancellation link in the guides points
straight at the official page with no tracking parameters. We are not paid when you
click. You can check the URLs yourself.
-
No data sales. Detailed in the
Privacy Policy — and when you are not signed in, the
extension makes no outbound request at all. That is not a promise;
it is something it cannot do.
What it will not do
-
It will not cancel anything for you. It will not press a payment or
refund button on your behalf. We tell you where to cancel; you press it.
-
It does not read input fields. No forms, no passwords, no card
fields. Even the last four digits of a card written in ordinary text are masked.
-
It does not promise punctuality. Browser alarms do not fire while
the computer is asleep. We say so, which is also why we offer LINE and calendar
links.
How we charge for it
A one-time purchase. There is no subscription to forget to cancel.
You pay once; there is no second charge, no expiry date and no cancel button to hunt
for. Full refund within 30 days, no reason required.
This is not a courtesy. A product that sells “don't get charged for something you
forgot to cancel” would be selling a fiction if it were itself a subscription you
might forget. Terms are on the Refund Policy, and
once you have bought it we will not charge you again — a later price
change does not reach people who already bought.
Where your data lives
-
Chrome extension, not signed in: entirely on your own computer. No
network, no account.
-
Website and LINE: there is no local storage to use, so the list is
on our server (Supabase, Singapore). The server runs on Render (Singapore) and
payment is handled by ECPay — our server never touches your card number.
-
You can always take it with you: CSV and JSON export are available
to everyone, not just paying users.
The three ways of using it are materially different in how data is
handled; the detail is in
Three ways to use it, three different data paths.
