Cancelling does not cut you off immediately. You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for, so if you have decided not to renew you can cancel straight away without losing anything.
Cancel at least 24 hours before your next billing date — OpenAI states this explicitly. Cancellation takes effect the day after the next billing date; until then everything works as usual.
You cannot cancel in the mobile app. iOS App Store subscriptions are cancelled under “Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions” on the iPhone; Google Play subscriptions in the Play Store.
Subscription fees are generally non-refundable; a refund has to be requested separately.
Deleting your ChatGPT account does cancel the subscription, but do not use it as a way to cancel — you lose your conversation history with it.
